Details & Rules (please read carefully before entering):
DATES: APRIL 13, 14, 2024
LOCATION: Both 50-meter pools at the
William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center
4601 Walnut Avenue, Irvine, CA 92604 (949) 724-6717; and other Orange County facilities professionally operated.
AGE GROUPS: We are using August 1st, 2024 as the age determination
for this event, so you can play your NJO teams: (Note: Age
Determination is age as of midnight, August 1st, 2024, but 12th graders may play 18's regardless of age...)
18U GIRLS, 18U BOYS (12th Grade OK)
16U GIRLS, 16U BOYS
14U GIRLS, 14U BOYS
12U GIRLS, 12U BOYS
12U COED, 10U COED
GAMES: 7-minute quarters for 18U/16U, 6 minute quarters for 14U/12U, 5 minute quarters for 10U; 4 games guaranteed; if more than 4 games are needed for a particular division then teams will play more than two games on a given day as we do not wish to inconvenience the teams to play on Friday if at all possible)
USAWP/FINA Rules as stated and with
exceptions:
The first team listed shall wear white caps and sit to the left of the score
table from the vantage point of someone sitting at the score table.
Teams shall switch ends at halftime; the rules do not allow for switching ends
each period.
7-minute quarters for 18U/16U, 6 minute quarters for 14U/12U, 5 minute quarters for 10U.
ALL BREAKS, INCLUDING HALF-TIME SHALL BE 2 MINUTES IN DURATION.
Possession Clocks shall be set for 30 second possessions for all divisions.
Size 4 ball will be used for the girl's divisions and 14U boys; size 5 ball for the 16U/18U boy's divisions; size 3's for 12's and size 2 for 10's.
Each team shall have 2 x 1-minute timeouts per game.
All games must have a winner, going directly to shootout after regulation if necessary.
Point System for bracket play:
4 points: Regulation win
3 points: Shootout win
2 points: Shootout loss
1 point : Regulation loss
0 points: Forfeit
RED CARDS: Any COACH receiving a red card shall be required to sit out the next
game for that team in that division, AND ALL GAMES IN BETWEEN IN THE EVENT THAT
COACH IS COACHING ANOTHER TEAM IN ANOTHER DIVISION.
RED CARDS: Any PLAYER receiving a red card shall be required to sit out the next
game for that team in that division, AND ALL GAMES IN BETWEEN IN THE EVENT THAT
PLAYER IS PLAYING IN ANOTHER DIVISION.
BRUTALITIES: Any PLAYER receiving a brutality shall be required to sit out the
next game for that team in that division, AND ALL GAMES IN BETWEEN IN THE EVENT
THAT PLAYER IS PLAYING IN ANOTHER DIVISION.
ENTRY FEES: $995 per team ($895 for 10U)
AWARDS: 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place Team Awards for the top 3 teams respectively in each division
ROSTERS: All rosters must be verified using the USA Water Polo roster verification online system.
You must also hand in a score sheet along with your verified roster prior to each of your games.
